Referrals and partner links

Your referral link, what it earns both sides, and how a creator or agency link is credited.

01What it is

Every account has a referral link in Settings. When a founder signs up through it and starts a paid plan, both accounts get bonus outreach actions. Accepted creators and agencies also get a partner link carrying their handle, which is credited the same way and paid in cash through the affiliate platform.

02Why it exists

A referral is credited from the signup, not the click. The link a visitor arrives on is remembered in a first-party cookie, and when a new account is created that link is written down against it. From then on the credit does not depend on the cookie surviving, so a founder who signs up today and pays in three months still counts.

Each signup is its own record. The first version stamped the conversion onto the link itself, which made every link single use: the second founder anybody referred earned nothing on either side.

Bonus actions sit on top of the plan and your own monthly budget. They are read inside the send gate, in the same transaction as the cap, so the allowance they raise is the one actually enforced.

03How to use it

  1. 01Open Settings, go to Referrals, and press Get my referral link. The link is yours for good.
  2. 02Send it to a founder. It works on any page of the site if you change the path.
  3. 03Read the line under the link: how many signed up through it, and how many of them pay.
  4. 04Use bonus actions like any others. They are spent after your plan’s own allowance runs out.

04What good looks like

You give it
A founder clicks your link, signs up the same week on the free plan, and starts Founder a month later.
You get
One signup under your link straight away, then a paid conversion, and bonus actions on both accounts in the month they paid.
Why
The signup was recorded when the account was created, so the later payment converts it without needing the cookie.

05What weak looks like, and what it costs

You give it
A founder who has had an account for a year clicks a creator’s link and signs in again.
You get
Nothing recorded, and nobody credited.
Why
Only a workspace created inside REFERRAL_SIGNUP_WINDOW_HOURS can be attributed, so an existing customer never becomes somebody else’s referral.
