Part 2 · Set up

The plan flow

The public front door. Paste a URL, get a go-to-market plan, keep the link.

01What it is

A public page that reads your website and returns a go-to-market plan: what you appear to sell, where your buyers gather, which channels to run and in what order. It runs before you have an account.

02Why it exists

Two jobs at once. It gives somebody a useful document in ninety seconds, and it proves the product can read a website and say something specific rather than generic.

The plan is also the fastest way to check whether the product has understood you. If the plan describes a company you do not recognise, your website is the problem, and that is worth knowing before you spend an hour on setup.

03How to use it

  1. 01Paste your domain on the homepage. The site is read from public pages only, never behind a login.
  2. 02Give an email when asked. The plan is generated after that, not before.
  3. 03Read the "what we think you do" line first. Correct it if it is wrong, and the plan regenerates.
  4. 04Keep the link. It is shareable and revocable, and it does not appear in search results.

04What good looks like

You give it
A domain with a homepage that names the buyer and the problem in the first two sentences.
You get
A plan that names the specific buyer, the communities where that buyer asks questions, and a channel order with the free ones first.
Why
The reader takes what it needs from the top of the page. A site that says who it is for gives it that in one read.

05What weak looks like, and what it costs

You give it
A domain whose homepage is a hero image, a logo bar and the word "Platform".
You get
A vague plan, and a "what we think you do" line the founder has to correct by hand.
Why
Nothing on the page names a buyer or a problem, so the reader has nothing specific to work from.
