Part 3 · Operate
Audience
The watchlist as a board, grouped by what you would do about each company.
01What it is
Every watched company, grouped by what the evidence says you should do rather than alphabetically.
02Why it exists
A list of company names sorted by date tells you nothing. Grouping by what you would do turns the same rows into a queue.
Shape comes first: how many are being watched, how many are close, how many are quiet. Then the groups.
03How to use it
- 01Read the shape line before the groups.
- 02Work the open windows first.
- 03Look at the quiet group occasionally. A company that has been silent for months may not belong on the list.
04What good looks like
- You give it
- 60 watched companies, three with open windows.
- You get
- A board with three companies to act on and the rest grouped by state.
- Why
- Grouping is by inferred state rather than by name.

05What weak looks like, and what it costs
- You give it
- 500 companies added from a list, few matching the context.
- You get
- A board full of companies you would not sell to.
- Why
- The collectors do not know your qualification bar. The list you gave them is the only expression of it.
