Part 1 · Understand
Presence and precision
The two engines, what each is for, and why one needs the other.
01What it is
Presence puts you in front of buyers continuously, in your own voice, on every channel that costs nothing. Precision watches named companies for change and tells you when several things shift at once.
02Why it exists
Run them separately and each one underperforms in a way that looks like the product failing.
Presence alone builds an audience that nobody ever asks to buy. You post for six months, people know your name, and none of them are in a buying conversation with you. Precision alone reaches the right person at the right moment as a complete stranger, which is the position every cold email is sent from.
Together they compound. A message to somebody who has seen three of your posts opens differently from the same message to somebody who has not, and the difference is not persuasion. It is recognition.
03How to use it
- 01Treat presence as the default state. Every content channel runs unless you switch it off.
- 02Treat precision as episodic. It fires when the evidence says something changed, and it stays quiet otherwise.
- 03When a read fires on a company, check whether that company has seen you. The Conversations screen shows what has already happened with each person.
- 04Judge them on different numbers. Presence is judged on conversations started, precision on hit rate.
04What good looks like
- You give it
- A read fires on a company whose head of engineering reacted to a LinkedIn post two weeks earlier.
- You get
- The draft references the dated change at the company and goes to somebody who recognises the sender. It reads as a follow-up rather than an approach.
- Why
- Presence made the sender familiar before precision gave them a reason to write.

05What weak looks like, and what it costs
- You give it
- All content channels off, watchlist full, outreach running.
- You get
- Drafts are well grounded and go to strangers. Reply rates sit where cold outbound sits.
- Why
- The evidence in the message is real and the recipient still has no reason to trust the person sending it.
