Part 3 · Operate
Digests and alerts
Ready-made reports on your own work, sent to your inbox or Slack on a schedule, at no cost to run.
01What it is
Settings, Digests and alerts lists the reports this venture can have: the Monday pipeline, deals going quiet, calls in the next 24 hours, channels near their result, drafts waiting, pricing page visits and the forecast change. Three more come with signal webhooks, once that is on for your account: new people engaging with your posts, a change at a company you watch, and new threads about what you sell; each shows only after its data has arrived. Each card shows what it would say right now from your own data. Turn one on, choose where it goes, and it runs in the daily job run.
02Why it exists
The useful questions about your own pipeline repeat. Which deals went quiet, what is on tomorrow, which channel reaches its result this week. Opening three screens to answer them is the work a schedule should do for you.
Every digest is a fixed read of your own data, worded from what it found. No model writes it and none runs it, so it costs nothing and cannot invent a number. A digest only reports: it never sends to anybody outside your team and never acts, and each row links to the screen where you act.
03How to use it
- 01Open Settings, Digests and alerts. Only the reports your venture can have are listed; one a switch away says what it needs, with a link.
- 02Read the preview on a card: it is what the report would say right now, from your data.
- 03Choose where it goes: it is always kept in Settings, and it can also go to your email and to Slack once product email and the approvals Slack app are set up.
- 04Change the settings a report offers, such as the number of quiet days or the weekday, then press Turn on.
- 05The daily run sends it. Weekly reports go out on their day in your own time zone, and alerts are checked once a day over what is new since the last run.
- 06Pause, change or remove a report from the same card. The last result stays on the card.
04What good looks like
- You give it
- Deals going quiet, turned on with 14 days, on a venture with an open deal whose last stage move, task, note and meeting are all 21 days old.
- You get
- An email listing that deal, its company and stage, and "21 days quiet", with Open in the app linking to the deal.
- Why
- The read takes the latest of the stage moves, finished tasks, call notes and past meetings, the same moment the deals follow-up uses, and the threshold is the founder’s.

05What weak looks like, and what it costs
- You give it
- Pricing page visits turned on for a venture whose website analytics is on but has no visits recorded yet.
- You get
- Not offered: the card says it needs the analytics script installed, with a link to Analytics, Setup, and Turn on is unavailable.
- Why
- A report is offered only where its data exists, so it never promises a number the account cannot have.
