Turning content into conversations
Somebody reacted. You have about a day.
Who this is for
You publish, people engage, and nothing happens next.
Before you start
- Content publishing on at least one channel.
How long
Ten minutes a day, ongoing.
The sequence
- 01
Check who engaged, the same day. A reaction three weeks old is a stranger again.
LinkedIn, Sidecar panel open5 minutes daily
- 02
Add the interesting ones to Conversations, at their company. Add the company to the watchlist while you are there.
/conversations5 minutes
- 03
Reply to their comment first, in the thread, with something specific. This is public and it is worth more than a message.
LinkedIn5 minutes
- 04
Connect the next day, referencing the exchange.
LinkedIn2 minutes
- 05
Once accepted, the LinkedIn loop takes over. Do not pitch on touch one.
/today5 minutes
- 06
When a read later fires on their company, you are writing to somebody who knows you.
/today15 minutes
You are done when
- Every person who engaged more than once is in Conversations.
- Their companies are on the watchlist.
The commonest way this fails
You treat a reaction as a vanity metric and move on. A reaction is somebody raising their hand in the only way the platform allows, and it decays within days.
