Best go-to-market tools to run from Claude or ChatGPT

We make InstinctGTM, which has an MCP server, so we are on this list and we have a view on the question that matters most: what an agent is allowed to do once it is connected. Every tool below lets an assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT read from it. Some let the agent write, and some let it send email in your name. Read which before you connect one. Everything here was read off each vendor’s own page on 3 October 2026.

The short answer

If you want to search a contact database and act on it from a chat, Apollo.io is the broadest, and it can send. For enrichment and research from a prompt, use Clay. For social drafts from an agent at no cost, Typefully’s free plan includes MCP. If you want an agent that drafts everything and sends nothing until a person approves it, that is the job we built for.

  • A contact database inside your chat: Apollo.io, MCP on any plan, free included
  • Enrichment and research from a prompt: Clay, finds contacts and pushes them to sequences
  • Social drafts from an agent, free: Typefully, agents, API and MCP on the free plan
  • An agent that drafts while a person approves: InstinctGTM, sending only through a per-message gate

What can an agent actually do through a go-to-market MCP server?

Three different things, and tools differ on which they allow. Reading is searching, enriching and reporting. Writing is creating lists, records and drafts. Acting is sending a message or changing something a customer will see.

Reading is low risk. Writing is recoverable. Acting is the one to look at hard, because an agent that misreads an instruction can send a hundred emails as quickly as one.

Should an AI agent be allowed to send email for you?

It is a choice about blast radius. Some tools here let an agent send one-off emails and enrol contacts in sequences, which is fast and is exactly as safe as the agent’s reading of your request.

InstinctGTM takes the other position: an agent can draft anything, and a message goes out only when one draft is approved by id, through the same checks as the button in the app. Neither position is wrong. Pick the one whose failure you can live with.

Apollo.io

Best for
A contact database inside your chat
Price
Free, then $49/seat
What the agent can do
Search, enrich, sequence and send one-off emails

Apollo MCP connects Apollo to Claude, ChatGPT and Perplexity on any plan, including free, per its own page on 3 October 2026. Its documented tools cover searching, enrichment, lists, sequences and sending one-off emails. Enrichment spends credits according to your plan, and Basic is $49 per seat a month billed annually.

If the job is "find these people and start a sequence" from inside a chat, this is the most complete option here.

What it does not do: With an API key instead of a sign-in, Apollo’s docs say requests act as the workspace’s longest-standing active admin and every call spends workspace credits. Connect it with that in mind.

Clay

Best for
Enrichment and research from a prompt
Price
Free, then $167/mo
What the agent can do
Find contacts and push them to sequences

Clay MCP works inside Claude and ChatGPT to find contacts, get emails and phone numbers, and push them to sequences, per its own page on 3 October 2026. Clay has a free plan, then $167 a month on Launch for monthly billing.

If your agent’s job is research and enrichment, this puts Clay’s providers behind a prompt.

What it does not do: It is strongest at data. What gets sent, and when, still runs through whatever sequencer the contacts are pushed to.

Lemlist

Best for
Managing sequences from a chat

$69/mo Email, unlimited users
What the agent can do
MCP and CLI listed on the Email plan

Lemlist lists its MCP and CLI on the Email plan, which is $69 a month with unlimited users, per its pricing page on 3 October 2026.

If your sequences already live in Lemlist, this lets an agent work on them without you opening the app.

What it does not do: Its pricing page lists the MCP without detailing what an agent can do through it, so read the tool list after connecting and before asking it to act.

Common Room

Best for
Buyer intelligence for a team’s agents
Price
From $2,500/mo
What the agent can do
MCP and CLI listed on its pricing page

Common Room lists an MCP server and a CLI on its pricing page, on top of a platform that joins CRM, product, marketing and engagement signals into one view of each buyer. Essential is $2,500 a month billed annually with five seats, per its pricing page on 3 October 2026.

For a sales team that already runs on Common Room, the MCP puts that view inside each rep’s assistant.

What it does not do: The MCP is a door into the platform, so its price is the platform’s price, which is a team budget.

Typefully

Best for
Social drafts from an agent, free
Price
Free plan, 10 posts/mo
What the agent can do
Queue drafts, leave feedback, manage the calendar

Typefully’s free plan includes agent, API and MCP access, at 10 posts a month on one social set, and publishes to X, Bluesky, LinkedIn, Threads, Mastodon and Substack, per its pricing page on 3 October 2026. It says integrations and AI agents can queue drafts, leave feedback and manage your calendar.

For an agent that drafts social posts for you to review, this costs nothing to try.

What it does not do: AI writing sits on its paid Creator plan, and the paid prices did not render as text when we read the page, so we have not printed them.

InstinctGTM

Ours
Best for
An agent that drafts while a person approves
Price
Free, then $149/mo
What the agent can do
Draft anything; send one approved draft at a time

InstinctGTM runs an MCP server on every paid plan, signed in over OAuth. An agent can read your brief and the evidence behind each account, list what is waiting for approval, turn one idea into a native post per channel, and draft replies. Everything it produces lands in the approval queue. Sending happens through a single tool that approves one draft by id and runs the same checks as the button in the app: suppression, excluded domains, per-domain caps, mailbox health, autonomy stage and budget, in one transaction.

Nothing an agent holds can raise a sending cap, change an autonomy stage or bulk-export your contacts. Sending starts on Founder at $149 a month, and the versioned API is on Operator.

What it does not do: There is no contact database for an agent to search and no way to send in bulk. If the job is "find five hundred people and email them from Claude", Apollo.io does it and this will not.

Which one should you choose?

  • You want to search for people and start sequences from a chat.

Apollo.io, because its MCP covers search, enrichment, sequences and sending, on any plan.

  • Your agent mostly researches and enriches.

Clay, because it puts Clay’s providers and tables behind a prompt.

  • You want an agent to draft social posts and you are not paying yet.

Typefully, because agents, API and MCP are on its free plan.

  • You want the agent to do the drafting and a person to own every send.

InstinctGTM, because sending only happens one approved draft at a time, through the pre-send checks.

What to do this week

  1. Write down what you want the agent to do in one sentence, and mark whether it reads, writes or sends.
  2. Connect one tool, then ask the agent to list its own tools before you ask it to do anything.
  3. Run the job once with a person watching, and read what the agent actually called.
  4. Only then let it run unattended, and only for the reading and writing parts.

Questions people ask

Which sales tools have an MCP server?

Among the tools we read on 3 October 2026: Apollo.io on any plan including free, Clay inside Claude and ChatGPT, Lemlist on its Email plan, Common Room on its pricing page, and Typefully on its free plan. InstinctGTM has one on every paid plan.

Is Apollo MCP free?

Apollo says any plan qualifies, including free, and that enrichment through the MCP spends credits according to your plan, per its pages read on 3 October 2026.

Can I use InstinctGTM from Claude?

Yes. InstinctGTM has an MCP server on every paid plan that Claude and other MCP clients connect to over OAuth. Drafts from the agent land in your approval queue, and nothing is sent until one draft is approved.

Connecting a go-to-market tool to an agent is easy now, and most of the tools you already use offer it. The question worth an afternoon is what the agent may do once connected, because reading and drafting fail quietly and sending fails in public. Choose for the failure you can live with.
