Apollo.io alternatives
Why people leave Apollo.io
Drawn from public reviews and their own documentation rather than invented. These are the reasons that come up, not the reasons we wish came up.
- Data accuracy on the long tail. A very large database is also a database with a lot of stale rows, and bounce rates on unverified segments are the usual complaint.
- Per-seat pricing gets expensive as soon as more than one person needs access.
- The product is shaped around volume, which is a mismatch for anybody whose deliverability cannot survive it.
The genuine alternatives
Including the ones that are not us. A list of alternatives containing one option is not a list of alternatives, and a searcher who wanted options can tell.
Clay
Somebody who wants enrichment quality over database size and will pay per row for it.
Common Room
A team whose buyers are already visible in communities and product usage.
InstinctGTM
Somebody with a list they trust who needs timing rather than more names.
Choose Apollo if you want a contact database and a sending tool in one subscription. Choose this if you already know who you want to reach and need to know when. Apollo is a database of around 275 million contacts with sequencing attached; this holds no contact database at all and instead watches companies you nominated for dated public change. If your first problem is "I do not have anyone to email", Apollo solves that and this does not.
How hard it is to move
Exporting contacts from Apollo is straightforward and the data comes out as CSV. What does not come out is the sequence history, so plan to lose the record of who has already been contacted unless you export that separately first.
